Role Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves working with young people aged 8-18 who have been admitted to the ward due to severe, complex, and persistent mental health problems. The ideal candidate will be experienced in systemic psychotherapy and possess a formal qualification at Master's or doctorate level.

Job Description
  • The Systemic Family Therapist will work alongside a dedicated team in a specialist CAMHS Eating Disorder service. They will be responsible for providing systemic assessments and interventions to young people and their families or support systems.
  • The successful candidate will also provide staff development in the service through training, consultations, and staff support, as well as contributing to the multidisciplinary team with systemic input.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Delivering systemic family psychotherapy within the service.
  2. Providing systemic assessments and interventions to young people who have been admitted to the ward and their families or support systems.
  3. Supporting staff development in the service through training, consultations, and staff support.
  4. Contributing to the multidisciplinary team with systemic input.
Requirements
  • A formal Family Therapist qualification at Master's or doctorate level, accredited by the AFT.
  • Registration with UKCP.
  • Experience working with adolescents and their families presenting with complex mental health needs, high-risk behaviours, and neurodevelopmental conditions in a CAMHS setting.
