Positive Futures Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their specialist school in Smallfield, Surrey. This rewarding role involves supporting students aged 6-11 years old with Autism and associated behavioural and communication difficulties.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualised support to students, promoting their cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being. Your warm and caring approach will create a safe and inclusive learning environment, enabling students to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will have a GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Level 3 / Grade C or equivalent, and ideally possess a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable. Team TEACH Training would also be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
  • To establish a positive relationship with pupils, promoting independence and personal development.
  • To support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
  • To respond to the varying needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
