Trainee Flood Modeller

McCloy Consulting is a leading environmental consultancy specializing in innovative flood risk management and water engineering solutions. We work on a wide variety of projects, including flood risk assessments, urban drainage design, and natural flood management, helping to build resilient communities and infrastructure.

We are seeking a Trainee Flood Modeller to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for experienced apprentice civil engineers, early career engineers, or recent graduates with a degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related scientific discipline. If you have strong numerical, analytical, and spatial analysis skills and are eager to develop your expertise in flood risk management, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of hydraulic and hydrological models for flood risk assessments.
  • Support the design and delivery of surface water and drainage projects.
  • Learn to interpret data and provide technical solutions for flood management.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Requirements:
  • An apprenticeship or degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Interest in spatial analysis techniques and an interest in GIS.
  • Interest in learning hydraulic and hydrological modelling software.
  • Willingness to attend the Belfast office regularly.
