Job Title: CNBC Studio Operations Intern

Are you passionate about live TV production and looking for a challenging internship opportunity?

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a CNBC Studio Operations Intern. As a key member of our studio operations team, you will play a critical role in the broadcast of CNBC's daily business and financial news programs and recordings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mixing and monitoring studio sound during live TV transmission
  • Preparing microphone allocation, ensuring connections to Video Tape (VT) sources, external guest sources, and music sources are in place
  • Communicating with the Master Control Room (TV Transmission team) on a regular basis when establishing any fixed camera/satellite links and correcting satellite guest's camera framing Video Tape & Camera
  • Playing multiple program Video Tape (VT) material using our Grass Valley playout system, Stratus Rundown
  • Assisting with studio camera operation in a live news environment
  • Greeting and preparing high-profile guests to go on-air
  • Mic up studio guests
  • Helping to manage the studio environment, ensuring guests are in the right place on time
  • Awareness of basic health and safety measures with the ability to spot and fix potential issues/escalate if necessary
  • First port of call to assist TV Presenters and help to fix issues while on-air
  • Assisting with changing and resetting studio lights during production as directed
  • Basic maintenance and housekeeping of studio equipment as required

Requirements:

  • Passion for live TV production
  • Strong interest in TV broadcast news and live TV studio environments
  • Ability to handle the pressure of live TV broadcasts
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team player who can keep calm in a live TV environment
  • Willingness to work early shifts (5am call time, car service available for early shifts)
  • Ability to multitask (operating of multiple systems and equipment)
