About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team at our children's home in South Reddish. As a key member of our residential childcare team, you will provide support for children and young people with their physical, emotional, and social needs, promoting their personal growth and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the team to prepare and assist children and young people to fulfill the aims of their person-centred plan.
  • Support children and young people to develop life skills and work closely with the team to improve their lives while in our care.
  • Work flexibly to undertake a range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.
Requirements
  • Completed the QCF level 3/4 in Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with Social Workers and parents.
  • Previous experience in keyworking with young people, including primary responsibility in complex cases and consideration of their feelings and wishes.
  • Previous experience in shift leading and supervising team members, including contribution to assessment and appraisal of the team.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding and a good standard of written English and IT skills.
  • A driving licence held for 12 months is desirable.
