Care and Support Assistant

United Response is a leading national disability charity that empowers people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. We are now seeking a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our supported living services in Bristol.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with their daily needs, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. Your key duties will include:
- Assisting with household chores and personal care.
- Teaching and developing life skills, such as cooking and budgeting.
- Encouraging individuals to participate in community activities and outings.
- Accompanying individuals on trips and leisure activities.
- Dealing with challenging behaviors and providing emotional support.
Requirements:
While prior experience as a Support Worker is not essential, you must have an awareness of learning disabilities and be able to adapt to the needs of the individuals you support. You should be a strong communicator, empathetic, and able to work effectively in a team. A Full UK driving license and ability to drive manual vehicles are also required.
