Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Construction Resources Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
    • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring all tasks and milestones are identified and tracked.
    • Conduct site surveys to ensure client expectations are met in terms of specification, timescales, and costs.
    • Support the operations team in conducting pre-condition surveys of client sites as required.
  2. Budget Management:
    • Estimate project costs using the company's project forecast system.
    • Commercial targets will be shared and agreed with the Head of Mech Dept prior to project start.
    • Monitor project costs during the project lifecycle and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  3. Team Coordination:
    • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, subcontractors, and apprentices.
    • Ensure the team delivers tasks in a safe manner by following company H&S Management Policies and Procedures.
    • Attend weekly Operations and Labour meetings to ensure Mechanical resources are effectively utilized.
  4. Contract Management:
    • Negotiate contracts and orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices and variations to orders.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure work is completed to industry standards and client specifications.
    • Conduct regular onsite inspections and audits to verify compliance.
    • Ensure O&M Manuals are completed on time and in line with client specifications, designs, and warranties.
    • Adhere to the company's file procedures in relation to contract management.
  6. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans.
    • Proactively address project and onsite issues to minimize project disruptions.
  7. Client Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, attending pre-contract meetings and providing regular updates regarding project progress.
  8. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
