Mechanical Project Lead

Contract Type:

Construction Resources is a leading contractor specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Telecommunication services. Our Mechanical and Electrical Division plays a crucial role in overseeing designated projects and associated responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Project Lead will be responsible for project oversight and documentation, with a strong focus on the commercial aspects of assigned projects. Ensuring adherence to all health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations is paramount for the successful execution of projects.

  • Oversee daily project operations within a designated area, ensuring compliance with client specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Manage commercial reporting and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Promote a culture of "Safety First" and "Right First Time" throughout field operations, supported by strategic planning and supplier engagement.
  • Lead and mentor field supervisors managing ongoing projects.
  • Investigate incidents, quality failures, and service issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to identify and mitigate risks affecting project budgets and supplier costs.
  • Maintain operational relationships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients, meeting performance standards, contractual KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Conduct regular audits of team performance and quality of work to uphold high service standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to senior management regarding project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Uphold safety and performance standards in all operations.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to the highest quality.
  • Represent the department positively and professionally, adhering to company policies and standards.
  • Commit to safe and responsible work practices aligned with company values and operational guidelines.

Relationship Management:
To excel in this role, the Mechanical Project Lead must:
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, clients, suppliers, and senior management.
  • Possess excellent planning, organizational, and monitoring skills.
  • Have prior experience in the Telecoms sector, including Data Centres and Telephone exchanges.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CRM systems.
  • Have a background in managing Mechanical and Electrical projects.
  • Hold a recognized Building Services qualification.
  • Achieve a minimum of B+ in Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
  • Be proficient in computer applications.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in work approach.
  • Possess the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Pass an enhanced DBS check due to access to client facilities.
  • Hold a valid UK Driving License with a clean record.
  • Possess a Mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Have a Building Services qualification (HNC preferred).
  • Hold IOSH/NEBOSH certifications.
