Clinical Leadership Specialist for Acute Medicine

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Leadership Specialist to lead our Acute Medicine service at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity involves providing clinical leadership and direction to a multi-professional team in the management of acute medical patients.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have experience leading acute admitting medical teams, working with allied professionals, and teaching both postgraduate and undergraduate students. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing clinical leadership and direction to the multi-professional team
* Leading ward rounds, directing patient management, performing practical procedures, teaching staff, attending multidisciplinary meetings, participating in governance activities, and managing the service
* Liaising with professionals within and outside the trust as required

Requirements:

This role requires an individual with a strong background in medicine, including:
* MRCP / FRCP / MBBS (or equivalent) qualification
* Full registration with the GMC
* A Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Acute or General Medicine or completion of training within six months of the interview date (for permanent posts)

Additional Qualifications:

Desirable criteria include teaching or training qualifications, experience educating support staff, knowledge of research techniques, and ability to increase the academic profile of the department.

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate should be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining awareness of personal limitations and demonstrating the 4 Trust values. Ability to travel to and work in other sites is also necessary.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is between £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
