Trading Analyst Role

We are seeking an experienced Trading Analyst to join our Trading and Optimisation team at Drax Group. As a key member of the team, you will support and direct traders towards value, enabling them to make quick and informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide robust fundamental analysis to inform trading decisions
  • Develop and maintain models to support trading strategies
  • Review past analysis and identify areas for improvement
  • Own pricing tools and trading-decision models, including marginal costs models and option pricing
  • Provide market and competitor intelligence to support trading decisions
Requirements:
  • Experience in fundamental analysis and trading strategies
  • Strong understanding of power generation units and renewable energy
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI)
  • Ability to apply a pragmatic approach to large data structures
  • Experience with linear and mixed integer programming, including building and solving models with commercial optimisers (Xpress/CPLEX)
