Renewable Energy Analyst

Key Responsibilities:- Provide fundamental Ancillary Services analysis, assumptions, forecasts, and analytical activities with a focus on current and emerging Ancillary Services markets.
- Work closely with the Trading & Optimisation team to support daily trading strategy decisions, from within-day to up to 5 years ahead, with the delivery of Flex Value annual targets.
- Develop and maintain models, review past analysis, own pricing tools, and trading-decision models such as price forecasting and simulation models.
- Provide market and competitor intelligence to identify areas to add value.
- Experience and understanding of power generation units.
- Curious mindset and ability to apply a pragmatic approach to large data structures.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI).
- Good understanding of linear and mixed integer programming, with experience of building models and solving them with commercial optimisers (Xpress/CPLEX).
