Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at GAP Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identify the root causes, and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, control panels, circuits, and fixtures.
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and departments to address and resolve issues.
  • Complete work orders and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Proven time served experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings (Ladder diagrams).
  • Implementation and installation of automated machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • PLC Controls Experience - Must be able to fault-find.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical stamina and working in confined spaces.
