Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Senior Advisor to support our Management Team in maintaining the Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (QEHS) Systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that Health and Safety and Product Quality are upheld to the highest standards within our organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain QEHS systems and procedures for the plant, ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Support internal audit procedures for QEHS and maintain accurate records of findings and recommendations.
  • Manage external audits, including QEHS, and participate in risk assessments to minimize associated risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Review customer requirements, address returns, and implement permanent corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with purchasing staff to establish and enforce quality requirements from external suppliers, ensuring adherence to QEHS expectations.
  • Ensure that training plans align with QEHS expectations and provide regular updates on employee training and development.
  • Monitor site performance on QEHS issues and produce statistical reports for management review.
  • Make changes to working practices to ensure safety and compliance with legislation, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Prepare health and safety strategies, develop internal policy, and monitor ongoing compliance with QEHS regulations.
  • Outline safe operational procedures that consider all relevant hazards and ensure that employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Experience and/or knowledge of Health and Safety Management Systems.
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to employees at all levels.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including data processing and analysis.
    • NEBOSH Certificate or IOSH preferred, but not essential.

    Salary and Benefits:

    The successful candidate can expect a salary of £35,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package including up to 10% employer pension contributions and 6 month sick pay.
