Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Special Needs

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Sidcup. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with severe learning difficulties and profound multi-learning difficulties.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
  • Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Support with personal care when needed with other staff members
