We are seeking an exceptional Senior VFX Creative Lead to join our Total War franchise and drive the creative vision for visual effects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious artist to lead a talented team of VFX artists, working on exciting new projects with a focus on world-class results. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Art Directors to define the art style for VFX across various projects.
  • Create high-quality VFX content for pre-visualization, benchmarks, and visual development.
  • Empower your team to create rich and varied effects, ensuring benchmark quality through strong leadership and regular feedback.
  • Develop your team members through training, mentorship, and career development.
  • Work closely with the production team to plan and deliver VFX work on schedule and to the highest standards.
  • Maintain team health and wellbeing, motivating the team to be productive and proactive.
  • Set art standards in conjunction with technical teams to ensure consistent and performant VFX across all projects.
  • Research emerging visual effects technology and plan a roadmap for technical improvements to stay competitive with industry trends.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across the franchise to enrich the game further with VFX of various types and lighting effects. You will also work with external contractors to provide required resources for the products we are creating.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in game development with 3+ shipped titles.
  • Extensive experience in real-time VFX authoring tools.
  • Expert knowledge of one or more 3D packages.
  • Strong knowledge of Photoshop, Substance, and other 2D editing or texturing software.
  • Ability to create animated textures, simulations, and associated related 2D content.
  • Ability to create meshes, shaders, and materials, and associated content for mesh-based VFX.
  • Basic animation understanding and skills to implement this in VFX for timing.
  • Experience in lighting and image processing.
  • Understanding of colour theory, visual design, and composition.
  • Proactive, results-oriented approach with excellent time management skills.
  • Understanding of VFX performance and experience planning and optimizing for various platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Love of games.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
