About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Specialist to join our team at Expeditors. As a Pricing Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of our Air and Ocean products by quoting to win new business and monitoring and maintaining rates for existing business using market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to ad-hoc quote requests and participate in RFQs from internal and external sources.
  • Manage and work to deadlines set by colleagues and customers.
  • Follow Expeditors' Operational Performance and Trade Compliance Standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Account Management team to provide timely responses to quote requests from customers.
  • Maintain and distribute ongoing pricing within our network and with customers, including regular updates to exp.o rates.
  • Provide insurance rates and information as requested.
  • Participate in Air & Ocean department meetings to discuss market intelligence and develop knowledge of the Air and ocean markets.
  • Review pricing goals and expectations with Expeditors Air and Ocean leadership teams to ensure buy-in and accountability.
  • Attend regular meetings with Expeditors Regional Quoting and Bid Teams to support regional pricing goals and objectives.
  • Develop relationships with Expeditors teams globally to secure competitive pricing and receive timely responses to requests.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others) to secure competitive pricing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Follow up with customers on ad-hoc quotes to gain feedback and answer additional questions.
  • Maintain contact with bid owners to support and follow up on bid results.
  • Log customer feedback and quote outcomes within the quoting tool for visibility purposes.
  • Analyze quotes and feedback to analyze and trend local market conditions and win ratios by customer/lane.
Requirements
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize and work within deadlines.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of incoterms.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to execute tasks with limited direction and oversight, against tight deadlines.
  • Strong multi-tasking, timekeeping, and organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and software to maintain pricing advantage.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
Qualifications
  • Experience in pricing and knowledge of the market.
  • Understanding of Air and Ocean transportation.
