Fabric Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
EQUANS is seeking a skilled Fabric Engineer to join our team. As a Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on various fabric and engineering assets, ensuring all activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair floor, walls, ceilings, and roofs
- Inspect and repair free-standing and fitted furniture
- Inspect and clear drainage and gully systems
- Inspect and replace luminaries
- Inspect and repair doors, windows, and associated furniture
- Unblock toilets and sinks
- Painting, re-decorating, and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
- Assist engineering staff in various duties as required
- General site services, including sweeping and tidying
- Carry out ad-hoc activities supporting EQUANS and client teams, including moves and changes
- Ensure reactive tasks are completed and identify areas for improvement
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure suitable consumables are available for maintenance and reactive works
- Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works
- Complete relevant paperwork and CAFM for planned and reactive activities
- Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks
- Develop a good working relationship with EQUANS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing uniform and PPE
- Present a professional image of EQUANS to clients
- Keep plant rooms under EQUANS responsibility clean and tidy
- Supervise and monitor subcontractor works
- Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover
- Undertake lone working when required, subject to training
- Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed
- Comply with contractual KPIs/SLAs
- Keep CAFM system up to date and close out PPM and reactive tickets
Requirements:
- Significant experience in a general plumbing/handyman role (minimum 5 years)
- NVQ (or similar) in plumbing, carpentry, or decorating services
- Excellent knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and/or painting/decorating techniques
- Eye for detail and quality standards
- Demonstrable experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, or flooring in a construction, repair, or maintenance environment
- Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques
- Understanding of Legionella control techniques
