Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual to support students with a range of special educational needs, including severe learning difficulties, complex needs, SEMH, Autism, and ADHD. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with various learning difficulties, including severe learning difficulties, complex needs, SEMH, Autism, and ADHD.
  • Assist with personal care, physical development, and support.
  • Supervise pupils' behavior and engage with students to promote positive relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
Requirements
  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.
  • Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behavior.
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 3-6 months.
