SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Bath. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and will be able to work effectively with children aged 3-11 who require consistent, ongoing support.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, such as Psychology or Criminology, and will have experience working with children with complex needs. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to use their own initiative to support the children in their care.

The Primary School is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all children, and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students.

The successful candidate will be working in a small class of 12 SEN children, alongside therapists, psychologists, teachers and other support staff. They will have the opportunity to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school, and will be mentored and supported to develop their skills and knowledge.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker or SEN teacher to gain valuable experience and develop their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with Special Educational Needs in a Primary School setting
  • Work effectively with children aged 3-11 who require consistent, ongoing support
  • Use own initiative to support children in their care
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Develop and implement strategies to support children with complex needs

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in a field such as Psychology or Criminology

Salary: £83.33-£96.15 per day

Hours: Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm
