Job Title: Research Scientist

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Photodermatoses Programme of the Manchester Biomedical Research Centre to explore psychological aspects of photosensitivity disorders. The post-holder will use mixed qualitative and quantitative methods to examine patient perception of the patient and clinician/therapist partnership, with a view to making improvements that assist the long-term self-management of photoprotective measures in photodermatoses patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use mixed qualitative and quantitative methods, including individual interviews and focus groups, to examine patient perception of the patient and clinician/therapist partnership.
  • Make improvements that assist the long-term self-management of photoprotective measures in photodermatoses patients.
  • Have a first degree and PhD in psychology or related subject with experience of human volunteer studies and in evaluating patient perception and self-management.
  • Have experience as a healthcare professional and of dermatology research.
