About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our automation department, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and improving our production lines and equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our company's automation strategy and contributing to the development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automated production lines and equipment using CAD software and other tools.
  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimization.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.
  • Prepare project costings, including Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure design performance and reliability.
  • Provide support for modifications and design changes found during the build and commissioning stages of projects.
  • Support and troubleshoot existing equipment in our UK facility and other group companies.
Requirements
  • Education to a degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in equipment design and development, preferably in an industrial automation context.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD software and industrial automation principles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial automation technologies.
