Kakilang is a leading National Portfolio Organisation dedicated to delivering bold and pioneering interdisciplinary art. We are committed to championing East and South East Asian (ESEA) artists and communities across the UK and internationally.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Artistic Director to lead our artistic, strategic, and financial objectives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing our artistic programme, working in collaboration with our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an innovative and interdisciplinary artistic programme that showcases ESEA artists and communities.
  • Lead the creation of an original Kakilang Production or exhibition every two years.
  • Collaborate with our team to deliver our strategic and financial objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with ESEA artists, communities, and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in interdisciplinary art.

Requirements

  • Strong track record of delivering bold and impactful art in any practice.
  • Passion for shaping Kakilang's interdisciplinary programming and overall vision as an ESEA heritage arts organisation.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
