Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Delivery Officer to join our Repairs and Servicing Team at West Lancashire Borough Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Compliance Delivery Manager (Housing) in delivering compliance with asbestos regulations across the Council's housing stock.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance, and implement best practices.
- Work collaboratively with the Repairs & Servicing Team to provide support in ensuring statutory obligations are met.
- Oversee contractors responsible for asbestos removal and surveying, ensuring delivery of statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Promote and influence asbestos compliance and associated procedures to safeguard the health and safety of all stakeholders.
- Perform a wide range of asbestos monitoring, including management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys.
- Inspect contractors' remediation work, approving or rejecting procedures as necessary.
- Provide professional and courteous service to key stakeholders, addressing inquiries and offering specialized advice and interpretations.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of asbestos regulations and compliance procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- High level of organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
