About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Staff Nurse to join our team at Swindon Borough Council. As a key member of our public health team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality health visiting services to children, young people, and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Named Health Visitors and Early Years Family Practitioners to empower children, young people, and families to make healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Offer Healthy Child Programme contacts and identify when extra help may be required, providing appropriate support or signposting as needed.
  • Build effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including children, young people, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the needs of our community and identify opportunities to improve health outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of public health strategies and initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and reduce health inequalities.
Requirements
  • Qualified nurse with a current NMC registration and up-to-date revalidation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Resilient, brave, and connected mindset, with a passion for public health and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Ability to travel throughout Swindon, with a car driver's license preferred.
  • Fluent in the English language, with a strong understanding of the needs of diverse communities.
