Senior Planning Policy Officer

As a Senior Planning Policy Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking planning monitoring and producing reports, including the Authority Monitoring Report, Annual Infrastructure Funding Statement, and 5 year housing land supply statement on a regular basis.
You will also carry out research and analysis, provide relevant information to customers, and prepare reports and draft policies in an effective and efficient manner.
Additionally, you will keep up to date with national and local planning legislation, policy, and guidance, and provide policy advice and information to site promoters and developers, and the general public in an efficient and effective manner.
You will also consider, analyze, and formulate conclusions on responses to planning policy consultations, manage and prioritize your workload to meet deadlines, and keep records of your work activities in a systematic manner to set targets and monitor achievements.
Site visits and attending meetings associated with planning policy and future development issues will also be a part of your responsibilities.
As a qualified Town Planner with recent local authority planning experience of planning policy work, you will be able to provide comprehensive planning policy advice to development management officers, officers in other departments, and council members.
We are looking for a candidate with a RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and/or experience in a similar position.
