**Brook Street Retail Assistant Role Overview**
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Retail Assistant to join our team in Central Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys providing exceptional customer service and working in a dynamic retail environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the store, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
- Serve drinks, including alcoholic beverages and coffees, alongside light snacks, while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Develop strong product knowledge of beverages to effectively assist customers with their queries.
- Prepare wines and other drinks for meals and functions as required, demonstrating attention to detail and professionalism.
- Change beer barrels and gas cylinders as needed, showcasing ability to work efficiently and safely.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety practices and maintain high hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist food service staff in Upper Hall or other dining areas, including collecting glasses after Hall dinners for washing, demonstrating willingness to support colleagues.
- Help prepare drinks for garden parties and assist with serving as needed, highlighting ability to adapt to varying situations.
**General Responsibilities:**
- Participate in the appraisal scheme and undertake necessary training to develop skills and expertise.
- Comply fully with all Brook Street policies, including equality of opportunity and data protection, upholding the company's values.
- Be flexible with working hours, especially during peak times, to meet departmental expectations and provide excellent customer service.
**Salary and Benefits:**
The salary for this position is estimated at approximately £25,000 per annum, reflecting the company's commitment to fair compensation. In addition to a competitive salary, Brook Street offers 33 days annual leave (including public holidays), pro-rata, and membership of a contributory pension scheme available, with eligibility for auto-enrolment based on age and earnings level.
