Job Title: Complex Mental Health Support Worker

CJP Outreach Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Complex Mental Health Support Worker to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in providing person-centred support for an individual with complex trauma history to develop essential life skills and independence.

About the Role:
  • Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to the individual, promoting their recovery and well-being.
  • Support the individual to develop self-management tools, increasing their understanding, insight, and motivation.
  • Collaborate with the individual to identify potential triggers and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to improve quality of life.
  • Assist the individual in developing essential life skills, such as cooking, personal hygiene, budgeting, and household management.
  • Support the individual in maintaining good quality health and well-being, including medication management and medical appointments.
  • Enable the individual to engage in social events, access local services, and build meaningful relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive care records, documenting progress, incidents, and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Experience in supporting individuals with personality disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma, and autism.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practice and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
  • Ability to work in a community-based setting, such as supported living and/or residential care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
Working Arrangements:

We provide support on a 24/7 basis with a staffing ratio of 2:1 support. You will be expected to support on a rotational basis working 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and sleep-in duties.
