About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our Community Mental Health team in Gloucestershire. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with enduring mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of care and treatment to service users in a community setting, promoting social inclusion and recovery.
  • Act as a Lead Professional for service users on Standard care, assessing needs and developing care plans.
  • Provide support and promote recovery for individuals with complex needs, maintaining them in their community environment.
  • Assist care coordinators and key workers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual care plans.
  • Facilitate access to activities that meet the needs of service users and carers within community settings.
  • Participate in induction and support of new staff and students, and co-supervise junior staff.
  • Attend and participate in identified training and the staff appraisal process.

Person Specification
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of competency based training in a relevant health or social care area, plus theoretical and practical knowledge to diploma level equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of care planning and risk assessment, including completion of an approved course in relation to risk assessment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of using a Recovery-based approach to care.
  • Clinical skills training, including awareness of physical health and wellbeing.
  • Awareness of issues of diversity.
