Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Life Skills Assistant to support a young person with autism and a learning disability in the community. The successful candidate will work closely with the individual and their family to develop life skills, use public transport, and attend activities of interest. This role requires a flexible and adaptable approach, particularly on Saturdays and during school holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the individual in developing life skills, such as using public transport and shopping
  2. Support the individual in attending activities of interest
  3. Work collaboratively with the individual's family to ensure seamless support

Additional Information:

The role does not require a driving license, as public transport is accessible. The individual is mobile and does not need support with personal care.

Availability:

The successful candidate will be required to work mainly on Saturdays, with potential for other days during the week. During school holidays, the role requires 10 hours per week for 13 weeks, while during term time, it is 6 hours per week.

Estimated Salary: £14.25 per hour, based on a 10-hour weekend shift and 6 hours per week during term time, reflecting the essential requirements of the role and typical pay scales for similar positions in the UK.
