Job Description

At Primark, we're seeking a skilled Procurement Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Procurement function, you'll play a vital role in enabling us to deliver "Amazing Fashion at Amazing Prices" while supporting our significant store expansion programme and business transformation.

Procurement at Primark

Our Procurement team looks after "Goods not for resale" (GNFR) covering categories such as Supply Chain, Marketing, IT, Facilities Management, Retail Operations, and Store Development. You'll partner with our Retail Operations teams to develop strategies that create competitive advantage for the business, focusing on value creation, innovation, and risk management.

This role is accountable for creating, developing, and executing effective strategies to maximise commercial, sustainability, and operational benefits from a subset of this spend category. You'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets, including Category Management, Compliance and Governance, Contractual and Legal, and Operational Effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Partner with Retail Ops teams on specific sub-categories to ensure we have the right suppliers in place to meet quality, pricing, and delivery objectives.
  2. Develop and execute Category plans aligned to relevant function objectives.
  3. Lead all tendering and contract execution for specific sub-categories, working closely with the Legal team and relevant stakeholders.
  4. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on all procurement-related matters and ensure compliance with procurement policy and procedures.
  5. Negotiate contracts with new and existing suppliers, ensuring contract terms achieve benefits to the organisation and govern long-term relationships.
  6. Identify and advise internal customers of commercial risks, supply assurance issues, and work to mitigate risk to protect Primark.
  7. Ensure Primark is adequately legally protected and insured in commercial agreements.
  8. Ensure compliance to contract approval policy via legal review and appropriate grant of authority for contracts and SOWs.
  9. Put in place contracts, frameworks, and legal agreements for all suppliers as required.
  10. Ensure legal frameworks and purchase orders are in place for all procurement activity as per policy.

Requirements

  1. 4+ years of related experience in a Procurement role.
  2. Experience and knowledge in indirect related categories (soft FM services, goods such as paper products) of spend within a fast-paced environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Strong knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
  5. Experience of working within fast-paced and matrixed organisations.
  6. Experience of developing strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
  7. Ability to meet deadlines and prepare regular reports to share progress and performance.
  8. Knowledge of financial, legal, and commercial contracts, sustainability/CSR, and ethical sourcing.
  9. Strong business and commercial acumen.
  10. Curiosity with ability to drive change.
  11. Self-motivated, focused, and results-oriented.
  12. Driven achiever with a proven track record.
