Job Title: Future Engineering Sub-system Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Systems Design Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems, working on the integration of new radars and functionalities for the Typhoon aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse system requirements and translate them into system design
  • Create and review documentation for the FESS team and customers
  • Configure supplier-provided software for regular application builds
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members
  • Stay up-to-date with current tools, SW products, and processes used within the team
  • Manage time effectively to meet tight programme timescales
Requirements:
  • Strong engineering background
  • Experience in system and software application design and architecture principles
  • Understanding of modelling techniques and tools (UML, Enterprise Architect, XML/XSD)
  • Experience with requirements analysis, elaboration, and management tools (Rational DOORS)
  • Experience with configuration and version control tools (Rational ClearCase, Git)
  • Experience with Windows operating systems environments, test processes, database technologies, and software development knowledge
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, ability to work in a team, and motivate others
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with software application builds and deployment
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems, communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
