Research Scientist in High-Performance Computing

We are seeking a talented Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Computing for Climate Science (ICCS). As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in advancing our understanding of climate science through high-performance computing and numerical modelling.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software tools and models for climate modelling, using a range of programming languages including Fortran, C++, C, and Python. You will work closely with our team of researchers and scientists to develop innovative solutions to complex climate science problems.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, including experience with development and productivity tools. A good understanding of testing technologies and methodologies is also essential.
Experience in AI/Machine Learning, Climate Science/Numerical Modelling, or High-Performance Computing is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with a specialism in one or more of these areas.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. The University of Cambridge is committed to supporting equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
