Job Title: Director of Homelessness Ministry

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our homelessness ministry, ASLAN. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the vision and strategy of the ministry, providing leadership for all aspects of the ministry, and ensuring the pastoral care and support of guests, team leaders, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the vision and strategy of ASLAN
  • Provide leadership for all aspects of the ministry, including maintaining a healthy work culture, line management of direct reports, financial management, fundraising, partnership development, and guest/client data collection and reporting
  • Oversee the outreach and supervision of all guest/client work, including pastoral care and support of guests, team leaders, and volunteers
  • Take responsibility for leading by example and maintaining a healthy work culture, including relationships within the ASLAN team and between the team and volunteers
  • Line manage any ASLAN staff, ensuring they have adequate training and support to carry out their duties
  • Ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported to the Parish Safeguarding Officer and oversee appropriate safeguarding and pastoral care follow-up
  • Act as a representative of ASLAN and ASSTC within All Souls and beyond

Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent administrative, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and pastoral care experience
  • Strong team leadership skills with experience of managing staff
  • Experience of working or volunteering within the sector
  • Experience of recruiting, managing, and training volunteers from a variety of cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both orally and in writing to people from a variety of cultural backgrounds
  • Experience of project management
  • IT and word processing skills
  • Whole life disciple wanting to know Christ more and grow in grace, obedience, and Christ-likeness
  • Having a servant heart and seeking to live a life of Christian integrity
  • Committed evangelical Christian in full sympathy with the vision, mission, and values of ASSTC, All Souls Church, and the Evangelical Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Proactive with the ability to draw out the gifts of others and delegate as well
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to self-reflect and be aware of one's own boundaries
  • Resilient with an ability to handle pressured situations with calm, tact, and wisdom
  • Committed to self-care and pursuing a healthy work-life rhythm
