About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Principal Ecologist to take on new challenges and responsibilities, working with a talented team of ecologists, landscape architects, and environmental planners. You will be responsible for managing projects throughout their life cycle, providing advice on ecology and biodiversity to clients and stakeholders, and building strong relationships with clients and contractors.



Key Responsibilities


  • Manage projects from planning to completion, providing expert advice on ecology and biodiversity.
  • Plan, lead, and conduct ecological surveys, including habitat assessments and species surveys.
  • Undertake environmental impact assessments and biodiversity net gain assessments, preparing reports and strategies for clients.
  • Design and implement mitigation measures to enhance biodiversity and protect ecological features.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, sharing your expertise and experience to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in Ecology or a related field, with at least 4-5 years of experience in ecological consultancy. You will also need to have strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and a deep understanding of ecology and wildlife protection in the context of the UK legislative and planning system.
