Job Title: Financial Accounting Director

The Pure Resourcing Solutions Limited is currently seeking a highly experienced Financial Accounting Director to work with one of the prestigious Cambridge colleges. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of management accounting including cost management, cash flow management, variance analysis, budgeting & forecasting.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in financial and management accounting, staff management, and process improvement to drive business growth and efficiency. You will work closely with non-finance stakeholders on budgeting and forecasting and take the lead on the annual budget process and reforecasting projections.

The main responsibilities include:
  • Delivering all aspects of management accounting, including cost management, cash flow management, variance analysis, budgeting & forecasting.
  • Leading the finance transactional processing, including income, student billings, cashbook, and accounts payable functions.
  • Reviewing the financial ledgers to ensure accuracy.
  • Reviewing the team's month-end work, including balance sheet reconciliations, cost centre reports, funds, donations accounting, and major project reporting.
  • Leading monthly review of variances.
  • Leading on the annual budget process, ensuring income, cost management, and operating cash flow management.


You will need significant post-qualification experience in financial and management accounting, previous experience in staff management, and the ability to demonstrate process improvement skills. The salary for this role is estimated at £55,000 per annum, along with an excellent benefits package.
