Engineering Services Technician

Austin Fraser is seeking an experienced Engineering Services Technician to join their team in Doncaster.
Job OverviewThis is a permanent role that involves carrying out maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, and fault finding on locomotives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and be able to lead engineers on contracts, projects, or tasks as necessary to support operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on locomotives.
- Lead engineer for contracts, projects, or tasks to support operational performance.
- Provide technical assistance over the phone or in the field as part of the Engineering Services On-Call Roster.
- Update the SAP system to ensure availability of parts.
- Input data into the locomotive history tracking system.
- Assist other engineers on the team.
- Adhere to strict H&S Policy.
- Carry out audits in line with Company quality management standards and processes.
- Work in line with legislation and rail industry requirements.
- BTEC National Certificate in Engineering OR Mechanics (ideally L3).
- Personal Track Safety.
- Driving license.
We offer a competitive salary of £33,300 + 20% Shift allowance, which totals £39,960 per annum. You will also receive 33 days holidays including bank holidays, 3 enforced days, 3 x salary life insurance, enhanced pension + Employers pension, and full sick pay after probation (3-6 months). The estimated salary range for this role is between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
