We are seeking a reliable and caring Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of our pupils during the lunchtime period.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the dining area for service, including moving and/or setting up furniture and trolleys, cleaning, and putting away after service.
- Preparation of the service area, hot cupboards, and other equipment as instructed.
- Washing dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables, and all other catering equipment in the catering environment.
- Cleaning catering areas to regulated standards as directed.
- Assisting in the serving of meals in line with agreed procedures.
- Encouraging social skills and good table manners, ensuring safety with knives and forks.
- Cleaning up spillages of food and organizing clearing cutlery and crockery off tables.
- Carrying out the washing up of food utensils and crockery, etc., and storing items in a clean and efficient manner.
- Understanding and ensuring the implementation of statutory Health and Safety policies, Environmental Health requirements, and emergency and fire procedures.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, providing emotional support where necessary.
- Promoting and ensuring good behaviour and a calm atmosphere.
- Reporting any misbehaviour that may occur in accordance with the school's Behaviour Policy.
- Addressing issues calmly and politely, and in doing so, being a role model to the children.
- Reporting as appropriate any incidents to the senior members of staff.
Support for the School:
- Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Vigilant safeguarding of all pupils and staff across the school, observing, monitoring, and reporting all concerns to the relevant designated safeguarding leads.
- Being aware of and supporting differences, ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Contributing to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the school.
- Appreciating and supporting the role of other professionals.
- Attending relevant meetings as required.
- Participating in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
- Participating actively in supporting the principles and practice of equality of opportunity as laid down in the school's policy.
- Complying with all Health and Safety legislation and school policy as appropriate (NB the exact responsibilities will depend on the post).
- As a term of employment, carrying out any other reasonable duties and/or times of work as may be reasonably required of you in accordance with the grade and general level of responsibility within the organisation.
