We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Energy Project Manager to join our team at Bristol Energy Cooperative. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of community energy projects in South Gloucestershire, working closely with local groups and stakeholders to co-design and establish a constituted community energy network organisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with local groups to co-design and establish a constituted community energy network organisation, building on existing network foundations and relationships.
- Support 2-3 community groups to progress pathfinder energy projects to the shovel-ready stage.
- Manage the administrative and legal costs of setting up a constituted network organisation.
- Provide secretarial support to all parties and share lessons and experience with newer groups who are less advanced.
- Input to regular progress reports to the grant funder.
- Experience of working in a project support role.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of organising public events.
- High IT literacy.
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies.
- Knowledge of the community energy sector.
- Experience of writing grant applications.
- Experience of writing articles for local media.
- Experience of giving presentations.
- Good social media skills.
- Experience of overseeing contractors/suppliers.
- Good knowledge of/local connections in South Gloucestershire.
We offer a competitive salary of £38,000 FTE on Bristol Energy Cooperative payroll or equivalent sum on a freelance basis, and a 9-month contract commencing November/December 2024. The role is available as a Job Share (managing one workstream individually) or as Full Time (managing both workstreams, 35 hours per week). Hybrid working is possible, with the option to work from home or in our office in Bristol.
