Data Scientist III, Product Analytics Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist III to join our Product Analytics and Experimentation team at Expedia Group. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in using data to drive business decisions and improve the customer experience across our Shopping path on all Expedia Brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with our Product and wider Analytics teams to understand performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain advanced analytics methods to drive new test hypotheses and optimize customer experience.
  • Work with large datasets and proficient in SQL and another programming language (e.g. R, Python) to analyze and visualize data insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver great features to our customers on the Expedia brands.

Requirements:

  • Excellent logical thinking and a strong background in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, engineering, operations research, data science or similar.
  • 4 years of experience in industry or equivalent, with a proven track record of creating and analyzing drivers of performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through complex business problems and implement suitable solutions.
  • Ability to use and interpret machine learning models such as propensity modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Experience in web analytics using tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
  • Excellent verbal, written and data visualization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize among conflicting demands and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Sharp focus on results and strong attention to detail.
