About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at Cotehele Ward, a 10-bedded, purpose-built mixed unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management support to the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of the ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care.
  • Manage the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective leadership and supervision of the ward nurse team.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with at least two years of post-registration experience at Band 6 in an acute NHS setting or similar setting.
  • Experience of CPA, risk management, and HR, sickness management, and performance within the workforce.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team and provide effective leadership and supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
