  • Providing antenatal and postnatal care to vulnerable women, including those with learning disabilities, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health issues.
  • Working collaboratively with the Specialist Safeguarding Midwife, Specialist Midwife for Perinatal Mental Health, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with vulnerable women and their families to provide emotional support and guidance.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop strategies for improving outcomes.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Registration as a midwife with the NMC.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in midwifery, preferably in a safeguarding role.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues in maternity and children's settings, including domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health.
