The University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of generative AI.

About the Opportunity

This is a research position where the goal is to publish at top-tier conferences. The post is part of the CoSTAR Realtime Lab, an interdisciplinary team across multiple universities, pushing the boundaries of generative AI for creative endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with gaming, filming, and animation practitioners to understand their pain points and define research topics based on real-world challenges.
  • Work with Dr. Changjian Li and Dr. Laura Sevilla-Lara to explore cutting-edge research in generative AI, including content creation, motion capture, and animation.
Your Skills and Attributes
  • A Ph.D. degree (or nearing completion) in computer graphics and vision or related field.
  • A strong background in generative AI, diffusion models, and radiance fields.
  • Publications at top venues in CG, CV, or ML.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and experience with modern deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, and a strong command of English.
What We Offer
  • An estimated salary of £42,500 per annum, ranging from £40,247 to £47,874.
  • Full-time employment with 35 hours per week.
  • A fixed-term contract of two years with the possibility of extension.
