Job Title: Compliance Officer

MM Search is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative matters, promoting a positive safety culture, and maintaining the transport and quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the logistics manager in fleet management, including driver licensing checks, managing drivers' hours, and issuing infringements.
  2. Assist with the management of fleet repairs and maintenance, ensuring all supporting paperwork is in place.
  3. Ensure compliance with statutory laws, EU driver's hours rules, road transport regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and company policies.
  4. Investigate and report accidents or incidents, taking corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  5. Provide training to drivers and staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements via regular toolbox talks.
  6. Control the company training matrix and liaise with third-party training providers to ensure all training requirements are met.
  7. Assist the management team in completing disciplinaries and other HR-related matters.
  8. Aid in the maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001, and BSI systems.
  9. Control COSHH and LOLER registers.
  10. Manage document control and legal registers.
  11. Manage supplier audit programs, conduct supplier audits, and report findings.
  12. Communicate and liaise with other departments to ensure a smooth and effective operation.
  13. Answer calls and deal with customer enquiries.
  14. Provide cover for the transport coordinator, involving routing vehicles to optimize fleet efficiency, managing drivers, and liaising with customers.
  15. Perform general administration duties in line with transport legislation, company policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in an office-based or customer service role.
  2. Some experience in the transport industry is preferred but not essential.
  3. Transport Manager CPC desirable.
