Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader to join our team at Inotiv. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of animal technicians, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of animal care and biosecurity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of animal technicians and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Oversee daily operations, including animal care, inventory management, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including AAALAC standards.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to the development of team goals and objectives.
  • Assist with the coordination of training and development programs for staff.
  • Work closely with the supervisor to address employee disciplinary and performance issues.
  • Assist with the preparation of yearly reviews and performance management development plans.

Requirements

  • Must have all the qualifications of a Senior Animal Technician and be able to lead a team effectively.
  • Have and practice good/strong leadership and human relations skills.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to the development of team goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to interface with teammates.
  • Assists with coordination of training/development/mentoring of personnel.
  • Work with a minimum level of supervision.
  • Evaluate the work of others in an impartial manner.
  • Work in a standing position that will require bending and stretching of arms and legs.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Competency Level IV required in Training Record.
  • Understand and utilization of (Recognize, Act, Tell, Sustain).
  • Understand and ensure AAALAC requirements are being followed.
  • Evaluation of staff utilizing the Technician Advancement Program (TAP).
