Technical Design Manager

We are a dynamic company located near Ulverston train station, offering excellent transport links within Cumbria and Lancashire. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership, meeting customers and suppliers, balancing technical and commercial needs, and conducting product development reviews.
  • Manage departmental KPIs, run and continuously improve design and prototype manufacturing processes, and conduct periodic supplier and customer visits to ensure alignment between design and manufacture.
  • Lead the technical team, plan capacity and capability, support recruitment, and conduct regular employee performance reviews.
Requirements
  • Highly experienced, ideally from within an electro-mechanical or electronics industry.
  • Previous experience in a senior position, preferably in an SME, with line-management experience an advantage.
  • A good degree in a relevant electro-mechanical or electronic engineering discipline.
  • Experience of product development and extensive knowledge of design risk evaluation and mitigation techniques.
  • Well-organised with good communication and presentation skills, and the capability to develop good people management skills.
