Trade Finance Specialist

As a Trade Finance Specialist at the Bank of China, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient handling of the Bank's trade finance products and services. This includes providing post sanction conformance on all Trade Finance facilities, as well as ongoing transactional and collateral management. You will also assist and support the Transaction Banking and Commodity Business team in developing the Bank's commodity business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, manage, and review processes and procedures to ensure an efficient running of a Middle Office.
  • Assist and respond to customers' daily transaction enquiries.
  • Provide turnaround for all client requests and ensure they are prepared and processed in accordance with the relevant risk approval and passed over to the processing areas with Operation Services Department in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Bank's commodity trade finance portfolio.
  • Prepare and update PID's for new products and new procedures as and when required.
  • Work closely with the Relationship Managers and Risk Management Department to ensure all necessary business and risk evaluations are undertaken appropriately.
  • Represent the Bank professionally at any events or conferences attended.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's Compliance and Sanction policies and procedures as well as all external regulatory and sanctions regulations.
  • Deliver accurate MI and detailed reports detailing client's exposure to product and commodity.
  • Provide advice and guidance to junior members of the team as well as other members of the department and Relationship Managers as and when required.
  • Provide coaching, support, and challenge when required to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Assist the department in any other tasks as requested.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other equivalent.
  • Experience within the Financial Services industry and proven track record in similar business stream.
  • Working knowledge of Anti Money Laundering and Customer Due Diligence.
  • Good knowledge of syndication loan and bilateral products and processes.
  • Ability to draft policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrable planning and organisation skills including resource planning.
  • People management skills and ability to provide training, develop, and mentor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly in the use of MS Excel.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
