Job Summary

UK Export Finance is seeking a highly motivated and process-driven individual to join the Trade Finance Division as an Underwriter. The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with new business enquiries, reviewing applications for UKEF support, and determining viability. They will also be expected to interface with external stakeholders, including exporters, banks, and overseas buyers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing with new business enquiries and reviewing applications for UKEF support
  • Determining viability and liaising with relevant parties for any absent information
  • Assisting with casework, including the preparation of credit papers and negotiation of transactions
  • Obtaining a technical knowledge of Export Finance, Trade Finance, and Credit Insurance products
  • Managing case work and ensuring all relevant communications and documents are correctly processed and stored in UKEF systems and databases

Requirements

  • 5 GCSE passes (including Maths and English) at Grade 4 (C) or above, or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience
  • A working level understanding of the political, commercial, legal, and risk environment
  • Knowledge of international financing structures and
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical ability and ability to use MS Office products
  • Highly organised and methodical approach to managing a workload

Working Environment

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team within the Trade Finance Division and will have the opportunity to work with external stakeholders. The role may require UK and/or international travel.
