Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Stroke Research Nurse to lead our research team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional nurse to develop their skills in clinical trials management and contribute to the advancement of stroke research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Trial Management: The post holder will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clinical trials, ensuring trial protocols and governance are strictly adhered to, and that all relevant information is documented in patients' medical and nursing notes.
  • Patient Recruitment and Follow-up: The successful candidate will identify patients suitable for entry into clinical trials, coordinate the research patient pathway from screening through to trial closure, and ensure adequate precautions are taken to minimise the risk of cross-infection.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: The post holder will collect, co-ordinate, and computerise data generated from clinical trials, report adverse incidents and near misses in line with Trust policy, and ensure that accrual data is reported to sponsors as required.
Requirements
  • Professional Development and Leadership: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in research or clinical trials, evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development, and excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Regulatory Requirements and Quality Assurance: The post holder must have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to trials and be able to implement strategies and systems for quality assurance.
  • Travel and Flexibility: The successful candidate may be required to travel to local hospitals in south east London and the surrounding counties and occasionally to other sites within the UK, and work flexible hours as required.
