Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team at a SEN secondary school in Quidenham. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work with pupils aged 5-11 who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings.
The ideal candidate will have a warm, caring, and supportive approach to establish strong relationships with pupils, promoting independence, personal development, and high expectations of behaviour. They will contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences, supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, and adapting to the varying needs of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide emotional support and stability to pupils, enabling them to feel safe and engaged during their time at the School.
- To promote independence and personal growth in pupils, maintaining high standards of behaviour at all times.
- To support the Class Teacher in daily tasks and contribute to the smooth running of the class.
- To demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing pupil needs.
Requirements:
- GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD.
Working Conditions:
The school is based in Quidenham, requiring access to own vehicle with parking available on site. A competitive salary will be offered, ranging from £21,709.61 to £22,388.59 dependent on experience, along with hourly rate £12.15 - £12.53 per hour, working 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm (with occasional late finishes on Thursdays).
