Engineering Maintenance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Maintenance Manager to oversee the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities at our global biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Kent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team and will be accountable for ensuring the efficient use of the maintenance budget. They will also be responsible for coordinating the team to ensure shut-downs are planned and executed as per agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set budgets, update spend forecasts, and maintain efficient use of the Maintenance Budget.
  • Lead Department quality and safety audits, maintaining records for regulatory purposes to current legislation, including Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
  • Coordinate the team to ensure shut-downs are planned and executed as per agreed timelines.
  • Support the CI Engineer with the team to remove recurring faults (identify root cause).

Requirements:

  • A working knowledge and practical experience with total quality systems such as QSR/GMP or ISO 9001.
  • Proven industry experience in a highly regulated cGMP manufacturing environment, such as the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Biopharmaceutical sectors.
  • An engineering qualification, either an associate degree or vocational qualification with experience coordinating maintenance for mechanical and electrical equipment.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Maintenance Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our global biopharmaceutical manufacturing site.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who can lead a small team and ensure the efficient use of the maintenance budget.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and maintenance, with experience in a highly regulated cGMP manufacturing environment.

They will also have a working knowledge of total quality systems and be able to lead Department quality and safety audits.
